Bears fall to 4-4

DeLAND, Fla. – The Mercer men's tennis program fell in its second match of the weekend in Florida to Stetson, 6-1. The Bears drop to 4-4 overall.

Mercer started strong, winning the doubles point behind victories on courts two and three. Samuel Barrow/Andrew Branicki defeated Ervin Eminedendic/Juan Jose Rodriguez 6-3 on court two while Marceau Foulihoux/Mariano Argote took down Alexandre Hillhouse/Sami Ozzor on court three, 7-5.

Nemanja Stefanovic dominated the first set of singles on court two, winning 6-2. He narrowly dropped the second set 7-5 which forced a third-set tiebreak to 10 for the decision which finished in favor of Marc Saura of Stetson. Lucas Dini's second set on court four went to a tiebreak, but he could not force it to a third set.

UP NEXT: Mercer travels back to Florida next weekend for a pair of matches against Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18.
