ATLANTA – Georgia Tech pounded out four hits and scored a quartet of runs in the first inning alone and then hit cruise control after that on the way to an abbreviated 15-2 victory over visiting Mercer on Wednesday evening at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field in downtown Atlanta.

The setback snapped a two-game run of success for the Bears (15-18) who were unable to muster their first win away from Macon this season. Georgia Tech (20-19) snapped a two-game skid in the series with Mercer, while also tacking up its 17^th home win of the season in the process as well.

KEY INNINGS
TOP 1	Georgia Tech used its first four at-bats to juice the bases, and then took the lead for good on Reese Hunter's 1-out RBI single to shallow right field. Paige Vukadinovich followed with a 2-run double to deep right field, and Emma Simon capped the scoring in the frame two batters later with a RBI single through the left side of the infield.

Mercer will continue a 5-game road trip on Friday and Saturday when it treks to southeast Tennessee for a weekend set with Southern Conference nemesis Chattanooga (13-20-1, 1-5 SoCon) at Frost Stadium. The squads will open the weekend with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Good Friday, and close out the series with a 1 p.m. single dip on Saturday.
